Heute (29.11.2019) sind an der Universität Bielefeld drei Prorektorinnen und zwei Prorektoren gewählt worden. Zwei der fünf Personen sind neu im Amt, ein Prorektorat ist neu geschaffen worden. Neu ist Professorin Dr. Birgit Lütje-Klose; sie folgt auf Professorin Dr. Claudia Riemer als Prorektorin für Studium und Lehre. Neu ist auch Professorin Dr. Marie I. Kaiser, die das neu geschaffene Prorektorat für Personalentwicklung und Gleichstellung übernimmt. Die anderen Prorektorate bleiben mit den bisherigen Amtsinhaber*innen bestehen: Forschung und Forschungstransfer mit Professor Dr. Martin Egelhaaf, Internationales und Diversität mit Professorin Dr. Angelika Epple und Informationsinfrastruktur und Wirtschaft mit Professor Dr. Reinhold Decker. Die Amtszeit des neuen Prorektorats beginnt sofort und läuft vier Jahre.
Die Prorektorinnen und Prorektoren sind von der Hochschulwahlversammlung gewählt worden. Die Zahl der nicht hauptberuflichen Prorektorate bestimmt der Hochschulrat, die Wahl der Prorektorinnen und Prorektoren erfolgt gemäß Hochschulgesetz auf Vorschlag des Rektors. Professor Dr.-Ing. Gerhard Sagerer: „Ich danke der Hochschulwahlversammlung, dass sie meinen Vorschlägen gefolgt ist und heute die fünf Prorektorinnen und Prorektoren für die nächste Amtszeit des Rektorats gewählt hat. Sie ist damit nicht nur meiner personellen Vorstellung gefolgt, sondern trägt auch die angepasste Ausrichtung der Prorektorate mit. Damit reagieren wir auf neue Herausforderungen und strategische Aufgaben – das gilt insbesondere für das neue Prorektorat Personalentwicklung und Gleichstellung, das die verschiedenen Karrierestufen in der Wissenschaft im Blick hat. Des Weiteren flaggen wir das Thema Wirtschaft nun in einem Prorektorat explizit aus und unterstreichen damit die Bedeutung des Transfers und der Kooperation. Neu: Prorektorat für Personalentwicklung und Gleichstellung, Prof. Dr. Marie I. Kaiser
Marie I. Kaiser forscht und lehrt seit Juni 2018 als Professorin für Wissenschaftsphilosophie an der Fakultät für Geschichtswissenschaft, Philosophie und Theologie, wo sie zuvor als Juniorprofessorin tätig war. Marie I. Kaiser hat Philosophie und Biologie an der Westfälischen Wilhelms-Universität Münster studiert und an der Universität zu Köln promoviert. Sie arbeitete wissenschaftlich an den Universitäten Münster, Köln und Genf/Schweiz und war Gastwissenschaftlerin an der University of Minnesota (USA) und an der University of Calgary (Kanada). In ihren Forschungen arbeitet sie stark interdisziplinär und bringt vor allem philosophische und biologische Perspektiven zusammen. Seit 2018 ist sie Promotionsbeauftragte der Abteilung Philosophie und Gleichstellungsbeauftragte im DFG-Transregio-Sonderforschungsbereich 212 zu Individuen und ihrer ökologischen Nische.
Prorektorat für Studium und Lehre, Neu: Professorin Dr. Birgit Lütje-Klose
Birgit Lütje-Klose studierte Lehramt für Sonderpädagogik und Diplom-Erziehungswissenschaft an der Universität Hannover. Hier wurde sie auch 1996 promoviert. Anschließend absolvierte sie ihr Referendariat und war bis 2001 als Lehrerin an einer Förderschule und an einer Grundschule mit gemeinsamem Lernen tätig. Dann ging sie als Lehrerin im Hochschuldienst zurück an die Leibniz-Universität Hannover und arbeitete wissenschaftlich mit den Universitäten Alsace (Frankreich), Edinburgh (Schottland) und Western Oregon (USA) zusammen. 2007 übernahm sie an der Universität Bielefeld ihren ersten Lehrstuhl die Professur für Sonderpädagogik mit dem Schwerpunkt Heterogenität an der Universität. Seit 2016 hat sie den Lehrstuhl für Erziehungswissenschaft mit dem Schwerpunkt schulische Inklusion und sonderpädagogische Professionalität inne. Im Sommersemester 2019 war Lütje-Klose als Gastprofessorin an der Universität Jena. Von 2014 bis 2018 war sie Studiendekanin der Fakultät für Erziehungswissenschaft.

Hintergrund Rektorat
Das Rektorat leitet die Universität. Vorsitzender des Rektorats ist der Rektor, der die Universität nach außen vertritt. Neben dem Rektor gehören dem Rektorat drei Prorektorinnen und zwei Prorektoren an mit eigenen Geschäftsbereichen und der Kanzler. Aufgabe des Rektorats ist die strategische Entwicklung der Universität in allen Bereichen. Darunter fallen unter anderem die kontinuierliche Weiterentwicklung von Forschung und Lehre sowie der Aufbau und die Pflege von Kooperationen und Netzwerken innerhalb und außerhalb Deutschlands. Die Prorektorate der Universität Bielefeld sind nicht hauptberuflich; die Professorinnen und Professoren arbeiten parallel an ihren Lehrstühlen in Forschung und Lehre.
Today (29/11/2019) saw the election of five vice-rectors. Two of them are new to the office, and one vice-rectorate has been newly created. Professor Dr Birgit Lütje-Klose is one of those newly elected; she succeeds Professor Dr Claudia Riemer as vice-rector for Education and Teaching. Also new is Professor Dr Marie I. Kaiser, who assumes the newly created vice-rectorate for Personnel Development and Gender Equality. The incumbents of the other vice-rectorates retain their positions: Professor Dr Martin Egelhaaf, Research and Research Transfer, Professor Dr Angelika Epple, International Affairs and Diversity, and Professor Dr Reinhold Decker, Information Infrastructure and Business Relations. The new vice-rectorate’s term of office begins immediately and runs for four years.
The vice-rectors were elected by the University Electoral Committee. The University Council determines the number of vice-rectorates that are not full-time occupations, and the election of vice-rectors is carried out in accordance with the Higher Education Act based on the rector’s recommendation. Professor Dr.-Ing. Gerhard Sagerer: “I would like to thank the University Electoral Committee for accepting my proposals and today electing the five vice-rectors for the rectorate’s next term of office. The committee has not only acted in line with my personal vision, but also endorses the adapted focus of the vice-rectorates. We are thus responding to new challenges and strategic tasks—this applies in particular to the new vice-rectorate for Personnel Development and Gender Equality, which will address the various career stages in academia. Furthermore, we are now explicitly flagging the topic of business relations in a vice-rectorate, therefore underlining the importance of transfer and cooperation. New: vice-rectorate for Personnel Development and Gender Equality, Professor Dr Marie I. Kaiser
Since June 2018, Marie I. Kaiser has been researching and teaching as professor of Philosophy of Science at the Faculty of History, Philosophy and Theology, where she previously worked as a junior professor. Marie I. Kaiser studied philosophy and biology at the University of Münster and received her doctorate at the University of Cologne. She worked as a research fellow at the Universities of Münster, Cologne, and Geneva/Switzerland, and was a visiting scholar at the University of Minnesota (USA) and at the University of Calgary (Canada). Her research is highly interdisciplinary, bringing together philosophical and biological perspectives. Since 2018, she has been officer for doctoral studies of the Department of Philosophy and equal opportunities officer in the DFG Transregional Collaborative Research Centre 212 (SFB) on individuals and their ecological niche.
Vice-rectorate for Education and Teaching, new: Professor Dr Birgit Lütje-Klose
Birgit Lütje-Klose studied teaching special education and acquired a diploma in educational sciences at the University of Hanover. It was here that she was also awarded her doctorate in 1996. She then completed her traineeship as a teacher and worked as a teacher at a special needs school and at a primary school with joint learning until 2001. Afterwards, she returned to the Leibniz University Hanover as a university teacher and worked as a research fellow with the universities of Alsace (France), Edinburgh (Scotland) and Western Oregon (USA). In 2007, at Bielefeld University, she assumed her first chair as professor of Special Education with a focus on heterogeneity at the university. Since 2016, she has held the chair of Educational Science with a focus on school inclusion and special educational professionalism. In the summer semester of 2019, Lütje-Klose was a visiting professor at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena. From 2014 to 2018, she was dean of studies at the Faculty of Educational Science.

Background information on the rectorate
The rectorate governs the university. It is chaired by the rector, who represents the university to the outside world. In addition to the rector, the rectorate comprises five vice-rectors with their own areas of responsibility, and the chancellor. The rectorate is responsible for the university’s overall strategic development. This includes, among other things, the continuous further development of research and teaching as well as the establishment and maintenance of cooperations and networks inside and outside Germany. Bielefeld University’s vice-rectorate positions are not full-time; the professors also have their work in connection with their chairs in research and teaching.
