First talk in a series of public lectures, organized by the research group “Internalizing Borders: The Social and Normative Consequences of the European Border Regime”.

Dr. Ekkehard Coenen is a sociologist at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. Among his research interests is violence analyzed from the perspective of the sociology of knowledge. How is knowledge about violence constituted and socially effective? In his project “Gewaltwissen” (“knowledge about violence”) Ekkehard Coenen is exploring the possibilities of a sociology of knowledge of violence that has yet to be developed.

All talks of the series will take place on site at ZiF and will also be streamed.
