NEOLAiA: General Meeting in Örebro, Sweden

This week, representatives of the nine partner universities of the European University Alliance NEOLAiA met in Örebro (Sweden) – including representatives of Bielefeld University led by Rector Professor Dr Angelika Epple and Vice Rector for International Affairs, Diversity and Society Professor Dr Michaela Vogt. During the general meeting, the agreement for another joint degree programme within the alliance was signed, among other things.

Delegates from the NEOLAiA partner universities, who are represented on the Governing Board, Steering Committee and Executive Committee, discussed the successes to date, experiences from the current project phase and priorities for the future development of the alliance in Örebro. The workshops of the international working group were characterised by joint reflection. Åke Ingerman and Dimitri Beeckman from the management team at the University of Örebro were able to show the NEOLAiA partners the current developments in teaching and research at their university, as well as various university facilities.

One highlight was the signing of the new joint master course “AI and Social Robotics applied to Global Health”. The programme was developed jointly by Örebro University, the University of Suceava (Romania) and the University of Tours (France) within NEOLAiA. In February, Bielefeld University, together with its partners from Ostrava (Czech Republic) and Suceava (Romania), signed the agreement for the master course in Inclusion Studies, which is due to start in the winter semester 2027/2028.
