SUMMARY:Anna Kosmützky (Hannover): Beyond Departments: Clusterized Research as an Organizational Model of the University
DESCRIPTION:Since its founding at the end of the 1960s\, Bielefeld University has embraced interdisciplinarity as a defining institutional principle. The Center for Interdisciplinary Research (ZiF) and the Institute for Studies of Science (ISoS) have jointly organized the lecture series Interdisciplinarity in Scientific Research – Perspectives from Practice and Science Studies to explore interdisciplinarity in both theory and practice. \nThis lecture series brings together theoretical reflections and practical experiences on interdisciplinarity in scientific research. The field of Science Studies has long examined the conditions\, forms\, and implications of interdisciplinary work. Historians\,sociologists\, and philosophers of science address questions such as: What distinguishes interdisciplinary from multidisciplinary research? How is knowledge integrated across disciplinary boundaries? How do interdisciplinary fields emerge and stabilize? How do researchers navigate conflicting methods\, standards\, and epistemic cultures in collaborative settings? \nThe series connects these theoretical debates with insights from research\, funding\, and institutional practice. It highlights interdisciplinary projects in which scholars develop innovative approaches to collaboration and design measures to foster interdisciplinary competencies. The lecture series also offers perspectives on how funding organizations design and implement formats that promote and sustain interdisciplinary research\, as well as on how research institutes host\, structure\, and actively support such collaboration. \nPartcipation is possible onsite and online. SUMMARY:Austausch für Labormitarbeitende zum Laborzertifizierungsverfahren
DESCRIPTION:Um den Austausch zwischen den Laboren weiter zu stärken und den Prozess der Laborzertifizierung an unserer Universität zu vertiefen\, bietet der Bereich Nachhaltigkeit eine weitere Austauschrunde an. Am 20. Oktober 2026 sind zwischen 11:00 und 12:00 Uhr alle Labormitarbeiter*innen der Universität Bielefeld zum Thema Nachhaltigkeitszertifizierung eingeladen miteinander ins Gespräch zu kommen. Der Rektoratsbeauftragte für Nachhaltigkeit wird für Fragen und Anregungen zur Verfügung stehen. \nArbeitsgruppen\, die sich noch nicht entschieden haben\, ob sie sich an dem Prozess beteiligen wollen\, sind ebenfalls herzlich willkommen sich zu informieren und/oder ihr Interesse daran zu bekunden.

Dann besuchen Sie unseren Stipendien-Infotag am 20.10. von 11 bis 14 Uhr in der Zentralen Halle (Abschnitt L bis M) im Universitätshauptgebäude (UHG). \nIm Mittelpunkt des Tages steht der persönliche Kontakt: An den Ständen verschiedener Stipendienwerke treffen Sie Stipendiat*innen\, die ihre Erfahrungen teilen. Sie berichten offen über ihren Weg ins Stipendium\, geben praktische Tipps zur Bewerbung und beantworten Ihre individuellen Fragen. Außerdem können Sie sich bei den hochschulinternen Expert*innen für das Thema Stipendien informieren. \nZur Vorbereitung empfehlen wir Ihnen\, am Tag zuvor\, dem 19.10.\, von 18:00-19:30 Uhr an einem Online-Vortrag zu übergreifenden Aspekten von Stipendien teilzunehmen.

SUMMARY:Workshop „KI spricht. Tools mit Künstlicher Intelligenz ausprobieren“
DESCRIPTION:ChatGPT und andere KI-Tools können Texte schreiben\, Fragen beantworten oder in verschiedene Sprachen übersetzen. Aber wie gut funktioniert das eigentlich und wofür können wir solche Tools sinnvoll nutzen? \nIm Workshop tauscht Ihr Euch zunächst über Eure eigenen Erfahrungen mit KI aus und bekommt einen kurzen Einblick\, wie sprachbasierte KI funktioniert. Anschließend probiert Ihr verschiedene KI-Tools selbst aus und diskutiert gemeinsam\, was sie gut können\, wo Schwierigkeiten auftreten und wie gut sie mit unterschiedlichen Sprachen umgehen. Dabei könnt ihr auch eigene Beispiele und Erfahrungen aus Eurem Alltag einbringen. \nDer Workshop findet in der Stadtteilküche Sieker (Greifwalder Str. 15\, 33605 Bielefeld) statt und wird von Birte Schaller (SFB 1646\, Projekt Ö) durchgeführt. \nFür die folgenden Wochen planen wir einen weiteren Mitmachnachmittag\, noch zwei Workshops und ein Erzählcafé. Die Besucher*innen können u.a.
